School Council Conference
The Canvey Schools Partnership holds an annual school council conference in the Autumn term named 'Our Voices Matter'. The conference aims to raise the profile of the school councilor and recognise the important role they play. It is aimed at newly appointed school councilors in every primary school on Canvey Island. Each school brings 6 councilors for a morning of training which focuses on a particular theme - this year the theme was speaking and listening skills. The secondary schools also provide pupils to facilitate the day. They also have the opportunity to share ideas, listen to views of others and learn about other school councils. Each school also brings a display about the kinds of activities their school council organise. The morning finishes with a buffet lunch and plenty of time for networking!

 

           

Celebration of Christmas

The Celebration of Christmas is an annual event in the Canvey Schools Partnership calendar. It brings together all schools on Canvey Island for a morning song, dance and seasonal entertainment. This is a unique, relaxed and enjoyable event at which schools can share the songs they have been learning, for Christmas productions in their own school, with all of the other schools on Canvey Island. Many VIPs attend the event.
 

Canvey Awards Evening
Our 9th Canvey Awards Evening was held in July 2009 at which we celebrate the successes of pupils from each of the 13 Canvey schools. It is a unique opportunity to celebrate examples of outstanding achievement publicly and with pride. Schools discuss long and hard the criteria for their awards which are given to one pupil from each year group in each Canvey school. Headteachers read citations about every award winner. The diversity and range of the awards takes many aspects of life into account, not just academic achievement. Each year we have a guest speaker that presents the awards to the deserving pupils. Every shild receives a photograph, certificate, copy of their citation, helium balloon and a WHSmith Achievement Voucher. Parents, headteachers, governors, local dignitaries and representatives of Essex County Council join together to celebrate the hard earned successes of the children.
